Solar Decathlon

I saw a fantastic piece on The Solar Decathlon the other night. Teams compete to create efficient and livable homes that are entirely off-grid. The rules stipulate that you have to put the homes through their paces (including running dishwashers, leaving TV's on etc.). It shows that off-grid living is affordable and achievable with current technologies.
